HUAI-CHE SHIH
SENIOR PRINCIPAL

Huai-Che Shih is the Chief Data Scientist at The Moran Company. He has over ten years of experience in health policy and scientific consulting. His technical areas of expertise include large-scale database management on both Medicare and commercial claims, research methodology with advanced statistical modeling, and in-depth knowledge of Medicare reimbursement models.

Huai-Che received his Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Rochester. His research interests include health economics, long-term care, real-world evidence, cost-effectiveness, and machine learning.

YAENA MIN
SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Yaena Min is a Senior Associate at The Moran Company. She received her PhD in Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science in December 2014 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focused on geriatric pharmacotherapy regarding the effect of sleep medication use and poor sleep quality on risk of falls in community-dwelling older adults. Through her graduate work she has developed an understanding of pharmacoepidemiology, survey research methods, and secondary data analysis. She previously worked as a pharmacist in South Korea.

DANIEL BIRUME
ASSOCIATE

Daniel Birume

Daniel Birume is an associate at The Moran Company. He graduated from Brandeis University with a Master of Science in Global Health Policy with a concentration in Health Economics and Analytics in May 2019. Daniel spent the summer of 2019 working as a Research Associate with the Dean’s Office where he was responsible for coordinating data collection and providing technical/administrative support to measure stress levels and its burden among the minority population in the Boston area. He also served as a Medical Case Manager at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA where he analyzed trends in healthcare using data-driven strategies to inform policies and provide practical recommendations to accelerate sustainable healthcare outcomes in 2017. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Government Public Policy from the University of Arizona.

Samantha Crow

Rachel Hollander is an Associate at the Moran Company. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She joined the team in January of 2020 with three years of experience in the industry of health care research and consulting. In her previous role at a consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., she worked with hospital and health system executives to identify and overcome a range of strategic and operational challenges, including intensifying margin pressures, unprecedented competition and regulatory and political uncertainty. Through her work she has developed an understanding of Medicare payment systems, federal and state health care legislation and delivery system and payment reform.

YAMINI KALIDINDI
ASSOCIATE

Yamini Kalidindi

Yamini Kalidindi is an Associate at The Moran Company. She joined the company in May 2020 after successfully defending her doctoral dissertation in Health Policy and Administration from Pennsylvania State University. Her research at Pennsylvania State University focused on analyzing the benefits of hospice use among elderly Medicare beneficiaries with lung cancer. Through her research, Yamini demonstrates an in-depth understanding of health policy analysis, Medicare payment systems, and statistical modeling using claims data. Yamini also holds a Master of Health Policy and Administration degree from Penn State. Prior to moving to the US in 2011, she practiced as a dentist in India.
